Dear NJC3 Members and guests to our website,

 

I am honored to have been afforded the privilege of serving as the President of NJC3 for the one-year term of July 2019 to June 2020. As the organization that provides peer-to-peer professional development and employer engagement, we have an important role to play in laying a course for the future of this field. I join a team of enthusiastic and capable individuals on the executive committee of NJC3, and we are all eager to make our own mark on NJC3. The mission of NJC3 is to facilitate networking interactions, establish partnerships between career services professionals and employers, and provide professional development through programming an information. And I am proud to join in the efforts to bring it to life.

 

I also come with a sense of excitement for our organization. In order to serve NJC3 better and move it forward, the executive committee is poised to evolve however necessary to continue bringing you innovative programming, increasing our membership and visibility, developing a strategic plan for 2019-2020 and creating a standard operations manual for our leadership. With approximately 250 members in the organization, this plan will allow us to not only manage our association more efficiently, but will also be instrumental in offering more value to our current members and help us thrive.

 

NJC3 plans to use this period of transformation as an opportunity to make a serious evaluation of where we are at this time, and how we would like to move forward toward the future. In this regard, we plan to devote some time to strategic thinking, exceptional programming and invest in some avenues to benefit the NJC3 membership. For instance, we plan to use social media platforms even more to reach more members effectively, streamline the standard operations with the new manual and offer different creative events, all while remaining transparent, open and collaborative within ourselves and other organizations.

 

Of course, we cannot accomplish these endeavors alone and will be seeking all of your input in the coming months. For the continued health of this organization, your active participation is essential. Please respond to our calls for proposals, submit nominations, volunteer on a committee, and run for elections. If not you, then who?

 

I didn’t know when I first joined that I would be here myself. But today, I am honored to be your President and cannot wait to have our exciting ideas come to fruition. If I earned your vote, thank you and if I did not, I hope to meet your vision for the organization during my term this year. We are only as strong as our membership and therefore, I encourage you to get involved!

Present At the Spring Conference:

 

There will be opportunities to present 1-hour full presentations or a 20-minute speed sessions. This is a great platform to test drive or perfect a presentation for EACE or NACE. Plan to submit a proposal for one or both! Employer participation is strongly encouraged! Call for proposals will start in December.

 

Run For An Executive Board Position:

 

Consider running for an executive board for the 2020-2021 year. Nominations open in February.
